I gesso the canvas four times. Then the fun part begins: gluing paper, fabric, string and anything else that helps the canvas come alive. I need the canvas to have its own personality - its own chaos. Next, l choose a photo or two; set up a grid; and go to work. Sometimes the canvas is enough inspiration.
